-
The #4 finish provides a
smooth cleanable surface.
-
Double Sealed and lubed for
life, all motor bearings feature Exxon PolyRex Grease for excellent water
resistance and high temperature performance.
-
Our endbells start with
quality castings that are machined to exacting tolerances. The exterior surfaces are machined
all-over to ensure the highest level of cleanability.
-
A static conductive plastic
cooling fan provides efficient airflow and a smooth surface, enhancing
cleanability.
-
Deep drawn from 16 GA
material, our Pharmaceutical Series Fan Shrouds feature a mirror finish for ultra
cleanability.
-
The junction box is smoothly and
continuously welded to the motor casing, providing a crevice-free and
watertight joint. Other motors
utilizing gaskets will always be susceptible to leakage and the relatively poor
fit of the junction box, gasket, motor casing yields crevices for contaminants.
-
All motors and gear reducers
manufactured by Stainless Motors, Inc. feature laser engraved nameplates. The engraving is done directly on the
motor or gearbox body eliminating any potential for contaminant entrapment
under a riveted nameplate. Engraving, rather than marking, ensures that all nameplate data will
remain readable after years of service and washdowns.
-
The screw-on, O-ring sealed junction box
cover provides a clean, tight closure for the junction box. There is no possibility of pinching a
lead wire under the cover (yielding a major leak) as is the case with other
motors bolted on covers.
- Each endbell is designed and
machined to hold a generously sized O-ring for an excellent endbell to motor
casing seal. The combination of a
precision machined groove and quality O-ring provides a sealed joint of much
higher reliability than a crushed O-ring design or any sealant; even after
thousands of temperature cycles and washdowns.
-
17-4 H1150 stainless steel provides our
motors with shafts unmatched for strength and performance. Other motor shafts, manufactured from T303
stainless will quickly wear in the area of the shaft lip seals, promoting
leakage, and early motor failure. Being magnetic, it also enhances the motor efficiency, resulting in
energy savings and a cooler running temperature.
-
All motors feature a locked shaft-end
bearing. Utilization of an internal snap ring eliminates the bolts (and bolt
holes) found on other motors, which can leak.
-
High quality, domestically produced,
Isomag mechanical shaft seals are standard on all pharmaceutical series motors. Food processing motors employ special
engineered Radyne seals.
-
Iron and Copper, and lots of
it! Windings found in our motors
will invariably have more core iron and more copper wire than other
motors. This increases efficiency,
enhances cooling and provides for more robust performance when operated by
inverter drives. Equally important
is the insulation system employed. We utilize only the best inverter spike resistant wire, properly
phase/phase insulate the coils, lace the endturns and do the numerous other
subtle things required to produce an exceptional winding. All windings are class F minimum, and
most motors operate within class B temperature rise. Pharmaceutical Series motors feature thermostats as well. A simple weight comparison
will reveal how much more iron and copper are in our motors as compared to
other brands.
