Stainless Motors, Inc. offers many cooling options for our Pharmaceutical motors. This allows you to customize the motor for your specific application. The standard cooling offered is our TENV(Totally enclosed non-ventilated). When using with an inverter, for the best possible constant torque performance at turndown ratios to 10:1, alternative cooling means such as TEBC (Totally Enclosed Blower Cooled) are employed. As its name implies, a TEBC motor has a constant speed blower to maintain a constant flow of cooling air over the motor at all speeds. This is accomplished by fitting a separate small fan motor to the larger, inverter driven motor. Separate wiring is required for the fan motor, as it must be fed line voltage whenever the main motor is being operated. Our TEBC motors feature junction boxes with both the main motor and blower motor leads, so that only one conduit is required, thus enhancing the clean-ability, or GMP, of the installation.
Stainless Motors, Inc. can supply any of the below cooling options to satisfy the most demanding or unique applications.

TENVTotally Enclosed, Non-Ventilated – A standard cooling option available on Pharmaceutical, Marine, and Food Processing Motors up to 1 HP. For these motors, all heat is dissipated through the motor housing and endbells. Surface temperatures are higher than comparable TEFC motors, but cleanability is enhanced. |
TEFCTotally Enclosed, Fan Cooled – The most popular standard option. A fan attached to the rear end of the motor shaft blows cooling air over the body of the motor. Available on all motors between ¼ and 30 HP. Note that air flow is dependent on shaft speed. |

TEBCTotally Enclosed, Blower Cooled – A separate blower motor attached to the motor provides a constant flow of cooling air over the motor at all speeds. This cooling option is suggested for all inverter-driven motors with turndown ratios to 10:1. As the blower motor requires its own source of power, separate wiring is included and brought out through the main motor junction box. |
TECACTotally Enclosed, Compressed Air Cooled – Compressed air is passed through the motor at low pressure. Stainless Motors, Inc. will provide suggested air flow values for each specific application. This option affords a TENV-type enclosure with no external fan, for ultra sanitary environments or areas which cannot tolerate the air flow from a fan. |

TEFCACTotally Enclosed, Fan Cooled, Compressed Air Cooled – This option is similar to the TEFC motor, however, compressed air ports are provided so that additional cooling may be provided during extreme operation. Typically found on inverter driven motors which must provide full torque below the standard 4:1 turndown. |
TELCTotally Enclosed, Liquid Cooled – By far the most efficient cooling means. Cooling liquid, typically water, is circulated through a special cooling jacket built into the motor. Applications include high power/small frame requirements, absence of cooling air (vacuum), or high power without the air disruption of an external cooling fan. A remote radiator or heat exchanger is required. |

TEOTTotally Enclosed, Oil Through – High dielectric oil is circulated through the motor winding. Relatively rare, applications include partial or full submersion in extremely hostile environments. |
